Woman ID'd After Head-On Crash In Fairview Township Police: Coroner

A 44-year-old woman has been identified following a two-vehicle crash in Fairview Township on Tuesday evening, the York County Coroner's Office announced the following night.

Dimitra Sideras, of the 3100 block of Robin Road, West Manchester Township died at the scene of the crash at 6:35 p.m., according to Coroner Pam Gay.

The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Brenneman Drive and Lewisberry Road/PA 382 in Fairview Township shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 6, according to the York County Department of Emergency Services. 

The Fairview Township Police Department was called to the scene in the 1000 block of Lewisberry Road at 5:47 p.m.

Regarding the details of the crash the police released the following statement:

"The crash involved a sedan and a large SUV which were involved in a head-on collision. Evidence at the scene indicated that one vehicle crossed the double yellow lines prior to impact."

Deputy Coroner Molly York was called to the scene to investigate and certify the death at 5:45 p.m.

The York County Coroner's Office explained that the woman had been driving on the wrong side of the road when she struck the SUV.

PennDOT's 511PA briefly showed the road closed between Siddonsburg Road and Old Quaker Road, but it has since reopened. 

EMS was also called to the scene and the driver of the SUV was taken to an area a hospital, the coroner's office explained. Details about the other injured person were not immediately available.

Sideras died at the scene at 6:35 p.m., Coroner Pam Gay said. There will be no autopsy but a routine toxicology was obtained.
